You are correct; the colon does extract water from the waste, and if less water is available in the blood stream, it will try to extract more from the intestinal tract. Drinking more water may do the trick; but some medications and/or medical conditions may contribute to the problem to the point where drinking more water won't help(see your doctor) If you you're not on any medications, and don't have any medical conditions, and the extra water doesn't help, you might consider a mild laxative, as persistent constipation can, over a period of time, lead to hemorrhoids and other problems. Also, you should be mindful of the amount of water you drink. Drinking too much water can be dangerous. (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication) Drinking some juices and sports drinks as well as water would be a good idea if you are drinking a lot of fluid. In any case, if your problem persists you should see your doctor; there could be something going on.

you are correct. just drink more water to deal with the sweating, and if that doesnt help, taking a fiber laxative will help with your bowel.

I agree with Lissa ... I'd check it out with your doctor. I have a similar problem and it turned out to be hypothyroidism (slow thyroid).

eat plenty of fruits and vegetables; fruits like apricot, apples and prunes are great foods to eat for constipation but certain ones like bananas can actually make constipation worse, drink enough water, get some exercise to have a regular bowel movement. visit http://www.newcolonsweep.com

Depends on which end of the gut you think is causing the problem: the fiber supplement is ok if you think you're not getting enough (consider your fluid intake), but if you're just having trouble pushing your dirt out try the soap suppository recommended above - that IS a quick cure!
